Herman Miller for the Home is raising the curtain on a number of timeless "Matinee Icons" at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2005, scheduled for New York City's Javits Convention Center from May 14-17, 2005.

Herman Miller for the Home, located under the marquee in Booth 1012 at the Javits, will be showing the best seats in the house, including the newly reintroduced Eames Molded Plastic Armchairs designed in 1948 by Charles and Ray Eames The show also marks the debut of the reintroduced Nelson Miniature Chests, designed in 1952 by George Nelson and now back for a 21st Century revival.

"The design genius of the Eameses and George Nelson continues to delight and inspire a growing audience," said Marg Mojzak, senior manager of Sales, Marketing and Distribution, "and it's our privilege at Herman Miller for the Home to make more and more of these authentic classics available to our North American marketplace."

At this year's New York show, Herman Miller for the Home will highlight its strong seating portfolio in a striking theatrical setting, drawing attention to the iconic status of many Herman Miller designs from such 20th Century legends as Nelson, the Eameses, and Isamu Noguchi.

Herman Miller's award-winning and ergonomically advanced task chairs, the Aeron and Mirra, will share the spotlight on dramatic pedestal perches in the ICFF booth. Those popular chairs, along with a supporting cast of many of the classics, are widely seen in motion pictures and television programs.

"We're featuring the seating stars of screen and television, and we're committed at Herman Miller for the Home to bring to the marketplace an ever-expanding list of great designs and cool products," said Gregg VanderKooi, product manager. "Wherever possible, we're bringing back the classics like the Eames Molded Plastic Chairs and the Nelson Miniature Chests, and we're also looking to launch some new designs that will be future classics."

"Original design is part of Herman Miller's DNA," continued VanderKooi. "It's the reason for our success and growth at Herman Miller for the Home."
